Just a tree-hugging, bible-loving, fitness fanatic, REAL food-eating lady on a mission to reach as many people as possible and show them just how capable they are.

Because I was the girl who would wear shorts and a shirt over her swimsuit to hide her stomach and "thick thighs". 

I was the girl who would dress in layers to disguise her physique.

I was the girl who would find every possible excuse to avoid intimacy...

All because I was self-conscious and ashamed of how my body looked (especially compared to my peers).

I spent years trying different diet plans and workout regimes to get the body I so deeply desired. But all I ended up with was a fiercely negative relationship with both food and my body.

Until I changed my perspective: instead of fighting my body, I learned how to nourish it. I discovered how to identify and eat REAL food, all the time, and it completely transformed my body. Now, I get excited to sport my new bikini at the beach; I have a growing collection of crop tops; I don't shy away from an invitation to do something physical; And intimacy? Leave the lights on - we good ;)

I look back at photos of me during those dark years and wish I could hug that girl. It breaks my heart to see such a wonderful human living a life so far under her potential because of bodily insecurities. I wish I could tell her that someday she will walk on the Miss America stage in a bikini and LOVE every second of it, because that very body she wants to hide will eventually be able to do pull-ups, push-ups, run a mile without stopping, squat over her own bodyweight, show muscle definition, and so. much. more.

A note from me...

I remember the moment vividly:

Getting dressed, about to sluggishly walk to my afternoon performance across campus when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror…

Double-take. Freeze. Sigh. I hardly recognized my reflection. I had avoided mirrors and pictures for so long, always opting for the loosely-fitting or layered clothing that, somehow, the body I owned was now just embarrassing. Gone was any hint of muscle definition, replaced by fluff and rolls. My skin was covered with acne. And I felt downright gross.

 

My confidence completely plummeted.

​

My energy was dismal, at best, and I just didn’t feel like the ‘me’ I knew I could be.

I searched Pinterest for 15-day and 30-day workout calendars. I saved dozens of “abs are made in the kitchen” meal plans. I tried counting macros, weighing and measuring every bite, declined countless social outings, fell off track and hobbled back on countless times. I took a long look in the mirror again - I didn’t look all that different.

“What am I doing wrong? I’m eating healthy. I’m working out. Why isn’t anything changing?”

I just wanted to feel confident. Sexy. Like a healthy woman who’s ready to take on the world. But I was stuck in this bodily purgatory. Apparently hard work doesn’t always pay off….

On the cusp of completely giving up, (after all, if my body wasn’t going to look and feel the way I wanted after putting in all the hard work, I might as well eat whatever I want!) I was driving home when I passed by a cemetery. “What if I die never actually knowing what my body is capable of? What if I get to Heaven and instead of ‘well done, good and faithful servant’ I get ‘what happened? why did you stop?’”

 

I realized in that moment: I want to take care of my body. It was a gift - a vehicle to do life in. You and I deserve to live in a body that’s capable of everything we might want to do. And if we don’t learn how to care for it, we are our own biggest obstacles in achieving bigger life purposes… It starts with owning personal health.

 

I began investigating real, sustainable nutritional health. No more quick fixes, supplement regimes, or counting. I knew that a truly healthful body will look it. I learned what’s fact and what’s fallacy. I learned how to identify my body’s hunger and fullness cues to create portions appropriate for me and my activity levels. I established principles that help me in social settings, never again ‘falling off’ or ‘getting on’ track. And, I grew a deeper appreciation for the circle of life, and how human health is effected by the ecosystem’s health.

​

The result? I do life in a body I’m PROUD of. No more fitting room tears. No more avoiding mirrors or strategically standing in the back row of pictures. No more missed social outings. No more chains of restricted diet plans. No more bodily purgatory. I have confidence to wear a swimsuit in public. I have confidence in knowing exactly what, when, and how much to eat, in any situation. I have the confidence to initiate intimacy…with the lights on. I have confidence that I am taking care of my family. I am the healthiest I have ever been, and my body SHOWS it. And that’s FREEDOM to do all the other incredible things this life has to offer, in the body I’ve been given as my vehicle.

I want this for you, my friend. You don’t have to stay stuck in the bodily purgatory, wondering why nothing you do seems to work (or last). I went from only knowing how to make pasta, scrambled eggs, and cake from a box mix, to being asked for recipes, and the point person for potlucks. My body actually craves vegetables instead of junk. And I did it all on a “barely making rent” post-collegiate-student budget. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned through the years and created a simple, step-by-step program to help you live life in a body you’re proud of.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work for me?

The amazing, and often frustrating part about nutrition is that everyone's body is different. However, as a human race, we all have the same basic needs nutritionally. While I cannot guarantee the same results for every individual, I can promise that if you fully commit to the process, you will see results of certain degree. I don't believe in 'magic pills' - the degree of your transformation is in your hands (what a blessing!)

I'm pretty busy right now. How much time will it take?

As captain of "Team No-Chill", I understand busy! I can also confidently tell you that your energy, brain clarity, and productivity is largely dependent on the quality of your nutrition. The calendar may be packed, but none of us can afford to miss this appointment with our health! That being said, the educational components take an average of 15 minutes each week : learn the Action Step + execute throughout the week.

​

Isn't healthy food more expensive? What if I can't afford it?

I first started this Eat REAL Food journey on a broke-college-kid budget, when I was barely making my $350 rent each month. Eating wholesome food does not automatically mean more $$$. As is with anything in life, some foods are worth paying a premium; most aren't any different than conventional foods. I include guides that steer you towards my favorite brands and how to shop without breaking the bank! 

In addition, most of my students find that they actually SAVE MONEY eating this way.

I have a family to feed too - will I be making separate meals for myself and them?

I sure hope not! The idea is to lead by example so your family can live long, fulfilling lives in bodies prepared for optimal health with you. If there's pushback from spouses or kids, start with a heartfelt conversation about how much you care for their wellness, share the things you've learned (knowledge = conviction), and involve them in the process! Kids and spouses who help pick recipes, shop, and prepare meals are much more prone to eating them without argument.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds = no need for commitment.

While that may be okay for a t-shirt, your commitment is directly linked to your success in this program, and I don't even want to make it an option to do this halfsies ;) For your own benefit: no refunds.

Can't I just Google everything I need to know about nutrition?

Absolutely. One could say this about any subject. But a coach & teacher provide a couple things that self-study on the internet cannot: 1) explain complicated topics in the context of everyday life, 2) save you time and mental energy, 3) give emotional support. I've done the research for you. I've lived the changes personally. I can relate to struggles and celebrate triumphs - something Google cannot do.
